Time is now officially dwindling down to zero.......but such is the nature of life! OOPS! that sounds way too 'finale' so I will suggest the term 'fine del viaggio di Bogliasco.' This gives us many options to move on! As this was our last full day at Villa dei Pini, we ALL were struggling with how to best spend the hours. We were careful how we explained our thoughts at breakfast because we thought a group of folks would ask to go with us if we told them we might head down to Sestri Levante. We love the level of social engagement here, but we also love our privacy and our special trips.
We kept our secret and managed to head out around 11:00. The drive south the Sestri Levante is only about 45 minutes. We got there at 11:45 and were incredibly lucky to find a parking spot down on the waterfront. We then proceeded to wander through the 'pedestrian only' shopping streets for the next hour or so. Andrea had some success!
We then walked back to the Segesta Beach Club along the waterfront (beach) for lunch. I suspect many are tired of having us say this was a great place that we had been to a couple of times previously. If you look at the last three Italian blogs.......guess what, you will see the Segesta Beach Club for lunch!
We will leave the commentary there. It was as quiet and elegant as before. We actually met one of the family owners......who had a lot of questions about Trump and Musk. We were one of the first for lunch on the terrace as it was not quite 12:30. We had an amazing meal (pesce fritto misto and insalata niçoise......and great desserts ........and great wine. This 'wine thing' at lunch is not such a bad idea!
After lunch we headed back to Bogliasco and a very nice reposa. I had a ZOOM call at 4:00 which worked out just fine. After that we started to pack and get ready for tomorrow. The aperitivi were outside this evening and everyone was in high spirits, although so sad to be leaving in the morning. Dinner was fine and the good spirits continued well into the evening, both inside and out. As one can imagine, this is a fairly emotional time for all......as the experience at Villa dei Pini is rather extraordinary.
But the first photo of the day is what we woke up to this morning after Andi opened the window shutters in our bedroom........it is always a great start to the day!
Still waking up!
Starting to close up shop!
